Trupayon Launched The 'Truthankyou' Program To Honor The Unsung Heroes Of The Veterinary Community

SEATTLE, June 13, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — TrupanionThe leading pet medical insurance company today (June 18) introduced the ‘truthankyou’ initiative to celebrate and empower the veterinary community. Beyond Words, TrueAnkyu is a rallying cry for pet parents to recognize and thank the veterinary community for its tremendous contributions to pet and public health, not just on Veterinary Appreciation Day, but year-round.

Starting today, Trupanion invites members to submit a real-life routine for their veterinary hero. With a heartfelt note, memorable pictures, or video message, pet parents can express their appreciation for those who have made a huge impact in the veterinary community with compassion, commitment, and selflessness.

For more than twenty years, Trupaion has been committed to supporting veterinary heroes who make a difference in their communities—and these heroes don’t wear capes. They often wear scarves covered with pet hair. That’s why TruPayon is giving away $10,000 worth of new cleaners to vets who receive the truth from the people whose lives they’ve touched.

“Many of our team members come from the veterinary environment, so we know the long hours and hard work that veterinarians put in every day to care for the pets we all love,” said President Margie Tooth. Trupanion. “Our goal is to create a touching tribute to the joy and inspiration and unwavering commitment of our veterinary heroes. It’s an opportunity for our members to share their stories and the impact their veterinary heroes have had on the lives of pets.”

According to a May 2023 survey by Trupanion, 83% of veterinarians feel that the demands of their jobs cause high levels of stress, with high levels of stress including both compassion fatigue and/or emotional burnout and stressful financial discussions with clients. Additionally, 47% of respondents said they felt “undervalued” about their work as veterinarians. When asked how long they would stay in the veterinary profession despite the stress, emotional exhaustion and lack of recognition, most respondents wrote that they could not imagine doing anything else.

“Veterinarians are often overlooked in appreciating medical professionals, but with a real program, we can support our animal heroes and show appreciation for all the amazing work they do,” said Dr. Steve Weinrach, Trupanion’s Chief Veterinary Officer.
