Meet Mimi!
Looking for a middle-aged woman with a sweet face and who thinks she’s the world’s most expensive lap dog? Mimi is your girl! Although she loves going outside for walks (she’s a gem on a leash), driving, and meeting every new person she can, her favorite thing to do is cuddle all day long! Mimi loves to snooze next to you wrapped in a blanket… or on top of you. She even gives the best kiss! Although Mimi prefers to be the only blonde in your house to get all the attention, she is very humble when she sees other animals when she is out on the town. Mimi needs a loving home, and come meet her today!
Empty the shelters
In partnership with the BISSELL PET FOUNDATION and MetLife Pet Insurance, HSWM is excited to be emptying the shelters this summer. Now through July 15th, all adult dogs are $50 to adopt and all adult cats are $20! We are so grateful to have so many animals go home during this empty shelter and hopefully many more will find loving homes. Be sure to come out and meet some of the amazing animals in our care and maybe even adopt one home!
Titus, Tots and Tails: Blue Dog Pub
In partnership with Tito’s Handcrafted Vodka, Tito’s offers Tots, Tots and Tails! Join us for a night of fun with puppies, signature drinks, great food and lots of fun! This event is July 20th from 4:00-7:00pm at the wonderful Blue Dog City Hall! A portion of all sales go directly to the animals in our care!
Hot weather safety tips
As we are in the midst of a hot summer, let’s talk about some tips for keeping pets safe in hot weather:
- Pets can become dehydrated very quickly, so give them plenty of fresh, clean water.
- Never leave your animals in a parked vehicle.
- Do not leave pets unattended in the pool area – not all dogs are good swimmers.
Do not let your dog stay on hot pavement when the temperature is too high. Being so close to the ground, your pooch’s body can heat up quickly, and sensitive paw pads can burn. Keep your walking to a minimum during these times.
